The Gospel Carabiner
God is the creator of everything. He made the stars, planets, and animals, but most importantly, He made you! He loves you! We know this from John 3:16, “For God so loved the world …” That verse is talking about you and the rest of the people of the world! You could even put your name in this verse! God is perfect and holy, meaning that He has never done anything wrong. But you and I have a problem …
We all have done wrong things called sin. Romans 3:23a says, “For all have sinned …” Sin is anything you think, say, or do that breaks the law of God. Roman 6:23a says, “For the wages of sin is death …” Death means separation, but the separation this verse is talking about is far worse than anything you could ever imagine. It means being forever separated from God. But God doesn’t want us to be separated from Him …
God sent His perfect son, Jesus, to come and save us. Jesus has never done anything wrong; He is perfect. He performed many miracles during His life on earth. The greatest miracle was for you and me and all people. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 tells us about that great miracle. “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” Jesus did not have to die for you, but He willingly did so on the cross because He loves you. All who receive Him will live with Him forever. Once you believe in Jesus, you become a child of God, and He will forgive your sins.
If you want to accept this free gift from God, and have Jesus to save you from your sins, you must tell God that you believe in His Son. In John 1:12 it says, “But as many has received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God even to them that believe on His Name.” If you would like to believe in Jesus, then tell Him so. Tell God “thank you for creating me and loving me.” Tell God “I am sorry for the bad things I have done.” Tell Jesus “Thank You for dying on the cross and beginning to breath again.” Tell God “I would like You to be my forever Savior.”
NOTE: It is not the prayer that saves you. It is only your believe in who God is and what Jesus has done for you. Once you have believed in Jesus as your Savior, he promises to never leave you.
Hebrews 13:5b “I will never leave thee.” Hebrews 13:6b “The Lord is my helper.”
When you do accept Jesus as your savior, God wants you to learn more about Him and how He wants us to live for Him. 2 Peter 3:18 says, “But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” We can do that by remembering GROW.
